A Lot Like Lars
Yakki, yakki, yakki, yakki, lars, lars, lars. :)
- First Impression - The thing I remember the most about Lars was that he was a big, smiley, warm kind of guy. During the ScaLDS pre-meeting, I noticed how cooperative and dedicated he was to his work. He voluntarily took on the role of the technical dude in the faci team although that meant that he would do the most work and get noticed the least. I still remember Lars scrambling around with Elli, asking for some random facts about each of the faci. Oh, one thing I remember, Lars actually described me as smart during one of the getting to know each other games. Goes to show how good he is at judging people, just kidding! :)
- Medium Impression - Post-ScaLDS, Lars and I were messaging online a lot. While I don't really remember talking much to him in ScaLDS, I knew that he was exactly the kind of person who would take the time out of a busy day to talk to a neurotic co-MC member in Scandinavia. I remember confiding in Lars about applying for MCP and how supportive we were of each other. I knew right there and then how reliable Lars can be. This reliability extends from the personal aspects of our relationship. He is also extremely reliable at work too. All those little requests I made, whether it was to send a document or look for a wine opener, was always done if Lars were in charge. No doubt he is one of the most reliable MCPs in the network now.
- Present Impression - Understanding. Caring. Kind. Humble. Smart. Those are the five words that I associate with Lars now. Beyond our relationship as Scandinavian MCPs, Lars is really a person whom I like being around with. He has this aura of humility and openness that makes you feel really comfortable around him. Never mind that I say the silliest or even the most sarcastic of things, Lars is always there to listen. He does his best all the time and cares for the people around him and their work all the time. He says the right things at the right moment. He achieves a lot and yet does not really seek attention. Lars is perhaps one of the most admirable people I know.
- Future Impression - I can only hope that our friendship is one for keeps. After all, Lars is one of the few people whom I can be totally honest to and yet feel so accepted.
Lars -- a great MCP, a trustworthy friend and an overall good guy. Skål! ;)
